中國水產頻道獨家報道，由Dr. Donald Lightner領銜的亞利桑那大學科研團隊與銀彈水處理公司（Silver Bullet Water Treatment Company）合作，測驗銀彈水處理系統（Silver Bullet System）在消除水體中副溶血弧菌的效果。

　　

　　銀彈水處理系統利用獨特的含氧氣體，能在水體中產生一種強效生物生蟲劑，能有效消除水體中的細菌，該技術已經成功在畜禽飲用水方面應用。科研團隊自信認為改系統能殺除水體的副溶血弧菌，但需要證實它不會傷害到蝦苗。因此在2013年9月初進行了一系列試驗。實驗證果表明，在6天的實驗期里，銀彈水處理系統能明顯降低水體副溶血弧菌含量，而對蝦苗沒有危害。

　　

　　基于以上這個成功的實驗，墨西哥Sinaloa州的漁業部門嘗試將這項技術引入到養蝦場，試驗由Dr.Bruno Gomez指導。2013年12月，他們在一個商業養蝦場試驗這項技術，實驗結果表明，銀彈水處理系統能減少和控制副溶血弧菌的含量，從而明顯地提高了對蝦的成活率。

　　Silver Bullet Trials on EMS in Sinaloa

　　

　　Following the identification of the bacterium that causes EMS/AHPNS, Dr.  Donald Lightner’sresearch team at the University of Arizona conducted an experiment in conjunction with the Silver  Bullet Water Treatment Companyto test the effectiveness of the Silver Bullet system for eliminatingVibrio parahaemolyticus.  The Silver Bullet system has been effectively used to eliminate bacteria in HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems and livestock drinking water systems by using a proprietary oxygenated gas to generate a powerful biocide in the water.  While the research team was confident the system would eliminateV. parahaemolyticusbacteria, it needed verification that it would not harm live shrimp larvae.  Consequently, in early September 2013, Dr. Lightner’s research team inoculated water in several test containers withV. parahaemolyticusand then introduced live shrimp larvae into the containers.  The Silver Bullet’s proprietary gas was then injected into the test containers.  Test results showed that the gas resulted in drastic drops inV. parahaemolyticuscounts over a six-day period while leaving shrimp larvae unharmed.

　　

　　As a result of the successful testing at the University of Arizona, Cuauhtemoc Castro, Sub-Secretary of Fisheries in the state of Sinaloa, Mexico, urged Silver Bullet to test the effectiveness of its system on a shrimp farm.  Testing was conducted by Drs. Bruno Gomez and Sonya Soto of the Federal Research Center on Nutrition and Development (CIAD) with the help Sergio Escutia, CEO of Aquastrat, a seafood company in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico.  In December 2013, test results determined that the Silver Bullet system was able to reduce and controlVibriogrowth in an active commercial shrimp farm while maximizing shrimp survival.

　　

　　Dr. Bruno Gomez said, “From our 47-day commercial field study and laboratory analysis of the Silver Bullet system, we found that Silver Bullet was able to reduceVibrioswith over 93.3% and 100% shrimp survival rates in a mesocosmenvironment”.

　　

　　Silver Bullet is currently conducting additional tests to further verify these findings with CIAD’s lab in Sonora, Mexico.
